Schola Sarmenti
One afternoon I met with Rosangela, my sister. She wanted to talk to me about a project for our future. The union with Alexander, her companion, had ignited in them a desire: to create a cellar. The adrenaline of that dream overcame us, capturing all our intentions and our thoughts in a whirlwind. In 2000 this desire turned into an intense aroma of freshly squeezed wine, the scent of our first harvest. There was ferment in the air and it was not that of the "ready" grapes, but that of our hearts burning with life. Since that day more than ten years have passed and now that "future" is our present. I often return to that land. There is a bond of blood that inextricably unites us. I shake my son’s hand, I look at him and say:
“Breathe Umberto, breathe hard. This is the scent of life, it is the scent of your future!”. Because in the vineyard life does not end, it always continues without ever stopping.
