Vigneti Reale
The Reale family has been involved in the world of wine since the beginning of the last century, when vines first began to be cultivated in Cellino San Marco. Their wine or grapes were initially sold through third parties. After the war, the idea of dedicating themselves more to the wine sector took shape, following the typical vocation of the territory, that is a production aimed at the quantity and sale of bulk or bottled wine. The biggest buyers were for decades Tuscan and French traders looking for a way to strengthen their wine, which is lacking in body and alcohol content both of which are abundant in the vineyards of southern Italy. Recent history is all about the gradual realisation of the great qualitative and commercial potential of Salento viticulture. At the turn of the twenty-first century the new project of the Reale Vineyards began to take shape: to produce wine from only the best vineyards of the company, concentrating on achieving the highest standards both on the plant and in the cellar, placing quality before mere quantity. The company logo is a further link with tradition: it depicts the family villa, dating back to the early twentieth century, surrounded by a renowned Italian garden.
