    Quarta Caffè was founded in the 1950s as a small coffee roasting operation located inside a bar in the historic centre of Lecce. Since the early years the coffee roasting has been distinguished by the high quality of coffee produced resulting in Quarta being destined to become the symbolic coffee of Salento. And so the historic Avio blend was born, dedicated to the colour of the uniforms of officials at Galatina airport who often came by to taste their beloved coffee. The reputation of Quarta Caffè continued to grow and, thanks to the success of the product, increased demand led to an increase in sales. During this time the first packs of blends dedicated to the family were launched. Quarta Caffè has conquered hearts with its inimitable aroma and taste and has established itself as the most loved and consumed coffees in the area. Industrialization started in the 1970s when the operation moved from the centre of Lecce to the out-of-town industrial area. Significant investment was made in the best technologies and in state-of-the-art equipment. The company has continued to grow over the years, continually innovating and paying great attention to the quality of the product. This has been achieved under the wise guidance of Antonio Quarta and by focusing on the sense of belonging by both staff and management.     Production


    The structure is spread over an area of 12,000 square metres divided into warehouses, a production plant and offices. The company has always used state-of-the-art systems, processing over 70,000 bags of green coffee in a wide range of blends with an unmistakable taste every year. The coffee roasting processes are carried out in a latest-generation computerized plant. The production plant is a combination of mechanical, computer and electronic reliability. All processing phases are monitored by the control room, where through specific stations it is possible to view every single section of the system and interact with it. According to the daily production program set up in the management system, coffee transfers through each phase automatically. From the control room the operators verify that all operations adhere to the established program.

    The Quarta Caffè brand, within the fresh non-vacuum packed coffee market, is positioned in the medium-high consumption ranges, with the possibility of managing other brands, such as MOKA2, to cover medium-low consumption levels. The company is listed with the brand EDO QUARTA in the specialty coffee sector with single origin marketing and distribution in domestic and foreign markets. Quarta Caffè has studied and produced blends specifically for bar professionals, composed of 100% Arabica coffee selected at origin. Barocco, Avio, Grancaffè, Superiore and Decaffeinato Sereno, packed in grains and stored in a protected atmosphere to guarantee a fresh aroma, accompany the days of the many tasters outside the home. Quarta Caffè has created a variety of fine blends to prepare a mocha coffee that satisfies all palates and needs. Strong, robust, full-bodied, in pods or decafeinated, espresso at home is a moment of unfailing pleasure that no one wants to deny themselves.
