Benedetto Cavalieri
From as early as 1800 the Cavalieri family has been dedicated to the cultivation of durum wheat on purposely chosen lands in the centre of Puglia. The agrarian crisis after the unification of Italy was taken as an opportunity to venture first into trade of the grain with distant lands, then into the construction of millstones designed to obtain the best milling of durum wheat.
In 1872 Andrea Cavalieri started his commercial activity.
In 1918, with the wealth of experience inherited from his father, Benedetto Cavalieri inaugurated, the "MOLINO E PASTIFICIO BENEDETTO CAVALIERI" designed expressly to produce quality pasta with the "best selected" durum wheat from the sunny hills of Puglia and Basilicata.
Benedetto Cavalieri focused on innovation and quality using the most modern machines for pasta making. From that day the watchword has been: "TOP QUALITY PASTA SIGNED WITH NAME AND SURNAME"!
In the 1950s, Benedetto passed the baton to his son Andrea, who gave a modern managerial approach to the company and transmitted his passion for pasta to his son Benedetto, the current administrator.
Benedetto has been leading the company for over 30 years, achieving numerous awards and consolidating the presence of the Cavalieri product in foreign markets.
Andrea, fourth generation of pasta makers, joined the company in 2007 and together with his father continues to promote and develop the family tradition with great enthusiasm and rigour.
